One of the best things about Coastal Georgia is the abundance of public places our community affords for adult playtime. It’s no coincidence we are dedicating Paisley’s MAY issue to playing— #THEPOWEROFPLAY.
We’re play-fully celebrating with locals such as Artist Mandy Thompson, whose artworks are the first exhibit at the grand re-opening of the Brunswick Glynn County Library. (208 Gloucester St.) Mandy will have a permanent rotating exhibit wall right over the periodical shelving—in our opinion—the best area of the entire library! We had our photo taken with “Elate,” one of Mandy’s colorful acrylics on canvas. And because we love the creative power of art journaling, we posed with our favorite journals.
This issue you’ll meet four local groups having the adult playtime of their lives, along with Emily Ellison and Jennifer Rothe, each sharing recreational benefits’ stories. Kristen Cummings gets her smile back 100 percent, Jill Badonsky reminds us of the therapeutic benefits of play, and Elizabeth encourages you to get outside and play.
We invite you to visit our website paisleymagazine.com to read our feature on the late Rev. Lyn Bell (December 2018). A woman who transcended inspiration, she will remain in our hearts.
Happy Mother’s Day,
Meredith M. Deal
